Whenever your child asks to go on YouTube you have the look of horror on your face, as you know it’s a great way to keep them entertained, but is thwart with content not suitable for them. However, help will soon be at hand with the release of a new YouTube for Kids app, which is due to be released on February 23rd, this coming Monday.
There is however a downside, and that is the fact it will only be available to Android phone and tablet users at first. For some reason the YouTube for Kids iOS app release has been delayed, and as yet we have no clue as to when it will be made available on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
Let’s try not to focus too much on the negatives here, as it will be great to have a version of this app that is targeted just to kids.
When you first open the app you will notice eight large tiles, which you can see in the image above. There are four video categories, which are Explore, Learning, Music and Shows.
Trusted content — You no longer need to worry about your child coming across untrusted third-party content, as the only videos made available via this new app will be provided by trusted partners, which include the likes of DreamWorks TV, Jim Henson TV and Mother Goose Club.
