Yelp check-in with new iOS 6 maps

Each new iOS 6 beta delivers a few changes and also gives us a glimpse into what the final iOS 6 will look like when it reaches a public release, and shortly following beta 2 launching we’re hearing about Yelp check-ins being included with the new iOS 6 maps. If you like to publish information to Yelp and have an iPhone, then you’ll love this new feature for the next major software update.

When WWDC 2012 arrived we got a taste of iOS 6 and the official website launched a page with extensive information, although there are still a lot of hidden features not published because things can change between now and when the public download goes live this Fall. Apple did state that the new maps would include Yelp integration, but this had only been on a user review level and not with check-ins that could rival other services from Facebook and Foursquare.

You can see the full report here that explains how mobile check-ins work with GPS, and they also state an interesting fact that 18 percent of adults use check-in services. Do you like to check-in with Yelp, Foursquare, or Facebook?

It will be interesting to see how the consumer reacts to Apple’s own mapping technology once it launches with iOS 6. This is the first time Apple has stepped away from Google maps since they partnered with them back in 2007. The above image is thanks to Apple Insider.
