They say bad new always comes in threes, and so we first had the Audi incident, then Samsung, and now Yahoo – although things have become even more serious for the latter two. However, it is the issues that Yahoo are having that is of interest to us.
We were one of the first to report an incident involving Yahoo being hacked, which affected several hundred million users, something that is not only of a huge concern for those users, but also for Verizon. The US carrier is now looking for compensation from Yahoo because of this huge issue – but there is yet another twist in the tale.
Yahoo has made things even more difficult now by disabling Mail forwarding, which we have to say is doing the company even more damage. They decided to disable mail forwarding earlier this month, and so for those that did not set this uo in time cannot have their mail forwarded on to another address. However, those that had already set this feature up are fine.
However, some of our readers have been getting in touch with us to tell us there is another option. So here’s how to get around Yahoo turn on Mail Forwarding – We are not certain if this will work or not, but you could read from Gmail using Import Accounts option under settings.
What does worry us and shows just how arrogant Yahoo is being is the fact that the automatic forwarding feature is something that has been in use for many years, yet it’s currently under development by Yahoo – what on earth are they thinking?
