Over the course of 2015 so far, users reporting that the Yahoo Mail server is not responding have increased to a new high according to status update websites. The likes of Down Today and Down Detector see problems reported every day, although the comments left in regard to the email service having server issues have increased today.
In the last couple of hours we have seen both of the above status tracking sites flooded with users talking about, “server not responding” messages. One Yahoo Mail user said they get this error, “almost every day” and wonder why this keeps happening. Another added, “why is the Yahoo Mail server not responding”.
Not only servers, there’s manual search problems – The Down Today website we spoke about above has many reports of search related issues. In a nutshell, these relate to not being able to perform a manual search and as you can see on this page, the community is connecting in regard to still not being able to SEARCH and right buttons not working. One user installed Firefox, Chrome, and Safari without any success and thought this issue was related to their old laptop.
We have reached out to Yahoo Mail in regard to the increased complaints about Yahoo Mail servers not responding and search problems, although no response has been given at the time of writing.
Update: In the last hour, Yahoo Care tweeted this message to a mail user. “We’ve received reports that some users are experiencing an issue when accessing Yahoo Mail from a desktop browser. Our Engineers are aware of this issue and are currently working to fix it as quickly as possible. A work around currently is to access Yahoo Mail from a mobile device/browser”.
