Yahoo Answers alternative, Bing Distill invites live

For years people have been going to Yahoo Answers to ask strange questions in the hope of getting the right answer, and while many of you would not admit to using the service, we know that one time or another you have. Earlier this year Microsoft announced its intention of a Yahoo Answers alternative called Distill, and we can now tell you that the service has gone live for you to try out.

Microsoft’s Bing Distill invites — You have to remember that this service is still in its beta and so in order to take it for a test drive you will need to sign up with your Microsoft account in order to be considered for an invite.

In time Distill will help to further improve Bing search results and allow it to become a much closer rival to Google — well that’s Microsoft’s hope. It is the hope that this new service will finally answer some of those strange questions that you have always wanted to know, and in time become the number one options, overtaking Yahoo Answers in the process.

As you would imagine there are Bing Distill community rules and guidelines that users have to adhere to, such as things you can and cannot do, how you can help to answer questions, and also rating and editing.

We ask that you head over to Bing to get the full lowdown on the guidelines, and you can also go here in order to send for your invite.
