Xiaomi Redmi 1s is lndia’s iPhone 6 killer

After the very successful Xiaomi Mi3 launch in India, consumers are now looking for the next big thing and a perfect alternative to the iPhone 6. It looks like Xiaomi are once again more than happy to oblige with this as we can now see that there is a huge demand for the Xiaomi Redmi 1s launch in India.

Aside from some really pleasing Xiaomi Redmi 1s specs, it is probably the Xiami Redmi 1s price in India that is the biggest talking point. The device is now available to buy for a very low 5999 Rupees, which is fantastic considering that it comes with some great performance thanks to an included Snapdragon Qualcomm 400 Quad-core 1.6 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and 1GB of RAM.

On top of that there’s a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 display with 312 ppi and an 8mp camera for taking photos. The 8GB of storage may be on the small side, but thankfully there is the option of expanding this with MicroSD card up to 32GB.

The device comes with Xiaomi’s trademark MIUI interface, which is a stripped down version of Android with no bloatware. The Redmi 1s comes pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but obviously we fully expect to see Kitkat rolled out very soon.

Put into perspective that a quad-core powered smartphone is under $100 USD and around £60 for the UK market. It’s easy to see why Indian consumers are going crazy about this device and the good news is that Xiaomi are already in the process of preparing more Xiaomi Redmi 1s stock.

Do you agree that this phone is the definitive ‘iPhone 6 killer’? Let us know if you are looking to buy one as soon as possible.
