Xbox One problems alleviated with free game

We have some great news for those of you who have been suffering with a broken Xbox One console since launch. Microsoft has decided to reach out to those affected and have made a great decision to offer up a free game for those who have a broken console.

As most of you will already know, certain Xbox One consoles have been shipped to consumers with broken disc drives, as you can read about again in our previous reports.

Microsoft has said that the problem is only affecting a small number of users, but have decided to make good anyway. In an email that has been sent out by the company, we can confirm that those affected can choose a free digital game of their choosing, from the following list.

The games that will be available include Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5 or Zoo Tycoon.

If you have already spoken to Microsoft customer service and have arranged for a replacement console to be sent, this is the email you should have, or should be receiving:

“While a replacement console is on its way, we want to ensure our advance exchange customers can stay in the game. We will provide each of them with a free digital download of one of the launch titles published by Microsoft Studios.”

Hopefully this offer is going to apply to Xbox One owners with a broken in all countries, and not just some specific region. As we await further details, give us your reaction to this.

Are you in possession of a broken console and have received the same email from Microsoft customer service? Let us know if you have already received a free download code.
