Xbox One missing features in some countries

One of the undoubtedly biggest features of Xbox One that Microsoft has been hyping up to eternity, is the availability of instant voice commands. Users will be able to fire voice commands at Kinect to navigate around the new interface in a slick and hassle-free way.

However, Microsoft has now sent out something of a bombshell by revealing that voice commands will only be available in some countries at launch. You would have seen Microsoft demo the glamorous feature at E3, by telling Kinect commands such as ‘Xbox go home’ ‘watch TV’ and so on.

Unfortunately though, this primary feature will only be available if you live in UK, US, France, Germany and Canada. If you live anywhere else, you are not going to be able to use this on day one and it can only be deemed as a major disappointment.

Australian, Spanish, Italian and other Xbox fans around the world will now have to play the waiting game, with Microsoft obviously going to now roll out voice commands at a staggered pace after launch. It could be well into 2014 by the time we see the feature available to everyone, which isn’t exactly ideal.

Microsoft confirmed the bad news over on their website here – note how they leave it in small print at the very bottom of the page, a bit sneaky perhaps. So there we have it, look forward to using voice commands on the Xbox One at launch, but only if you live in the five countries as mentioned above.

For everyone else missing out, give us your honest thoughts on this.
