Xbox One Crackdown 3 elevates GTA V for now

There is hope the Crackdown 3 release date for Xbox One will land somewhere in 2014 and fans of this franchise will welcome such a possibility, although the same cannot be said for Grand Theft Auto V launching on PS4 or Xbox One in 2014. We already explained that some gamers are so busy playing GTA V on PS3/Xbox 360 that they don’t have time for next-gen consoles just yet, although any formal announcement of development for a Next-Gen GTA would likely change that.

You could debate how much GTA V graphics and gameplay improved when compared to GTA IV on the same consoles, and personally the leap is so big that we wouldn’t expect a next-gen version to be needed for the reason of improvements just yet.

The real problem lies with those that want to sell a PS3 or Xbox 360 to help fund the PS4/Xbox One purchase. You cannot play last-gen games on the new consoles, so those of you that played GTA IV for years will find it hard to part with a PS3 or Xbox 360 without GTA V on PS4 or Xbox One. We should note that this is just one game and next-gen sales so far reveal just how popular the new machines are, but you cannot deny that some gamers want to play GTA V for at least the next year.

One solution would be for a digital version of GTA V to launch on PS4 and Xbox One, I would certainly purchase this, although it would be good to see a massive discount if you already own the PS3 or Xbox 360 version.

Xbox One Crackdown 3 elevates GTA V for now – Crackdown is no GTA V, but after spending over 500 hours playing GTA V and Crackdown 2 you cannot help but notice the similarities in open world freedom. These games allow you to spend hours of mindless fun roaming the streets, and while GTA V does this job one hundred times better in our opinion, a next-gen game in the form of Crackdown 3 will help towards the wait until Grand Theft Auto on Xbox One.

We have already seen a job listing hinting at Crackdown 3, so it looks like our wait will not be much longer than a year to get playing Crackdown 3 on Xbox One. If you think it is a no-brainer to purchase this game on Xbox One, let us know what your wish list of features would be in the comments.

Do you think Xbox One needs Crackdown 3, and if so how do you think this franchise compares to GTA?
