If you have installed the latest Xbox One update, you may have encountered a rather worrying problem involving Xbox One black screens. Fortunately, it doesn’t appear to be widespread at the moment and there already does appear to be a temporary fix to this issue.
The good news is that Microsoft has already acknowledged this as an official bug after the Xbox One February 2014 update and the team have said that a permanent fix will be on the way to correct this soon.
We’re not sure whether that means that this will be included in the Xbox One March update, or if Microsoft are now planning to issue a quick hotfix to sort this out by the end of the month.
Either way, some users are turning on their consoles and are greeted by black screens whenever they try to enter a game.
Here’s the fix though from Microsoft to get around this problem right now:
“This does not appear to be widespread, but can be addressed by the player by holding the Xbox One power button on the console for ten seconds to restart.”
If this has been troubling you over the last few days, you should definitely give this method a go and see if it works for you.
Let us know how you get on.
