Xbox One Live status with EA down on Dec 27

Within the last 15 minutes we have seen Xbox Live update their status page, which now explains Xbox One is down with a limited status on December 27 from 1:46PM CST. The current problems don’t seem to be taking place on the previous generation of console, although there’s thousands of gamers reporting EA servers are down today and this impacts FIFA 15 FUT especially.

The Xbox One affected services involve joining other Xbox Live members when playing online games. This means this platform is having issues with what Microsoft call, “Social and Gaming” and they’ve put them in a red “Limited” status. You can see a screenshot detailing the last official update below.

EA servers down on Dec 27 – the jokes are arriving every couple of seconds on Twitter, as seen with this tweet minutes ago “EA Servers going down easier than Ronaldo inside the penalty area”. One Product Reviews reader said, “I was halfway through a game on FIFA 15 and the EA servers go down, so not happy”.

This isn’t the first time we have seen FIFA 15 players complain about servers being down at Christmas, although previous problems were due to PSN being under attack. The issues right now seem to be directed at EA’s servers, so if you can’t play FUT then you shouldn’t expect this outage to be Xbox or PSN’s fault.

It’s also good to remember that the above situation might change in the next couple of hours, so leave a comment below so we can spot patterns by location and platform. Is Xbox Live down for you today and if not, are you able to get online with an EA Sports game like FIFA 15?

On Christmas Day, EA explained they were working with partners to fix problems when PSN servers were down. The current problems seem to be very different, although more information will arrive in the next couple of hours.
