Xbox 720 launch games wishlist: Rumors ignite demands

We have some informed you about some possible clues regarding the release status of the next generation gaming consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox 720, but now we have some specific information on Microsoft’s next console, with regards to big name titles that could be on the way soon.

The first game that we want to tell you about is Alan Wake 2, the obvious follow-up to the excellent first title which won universal praise and cemented its position as one of the best games of 2010. Information revealed over at CVG suggests that Alan Wake 2 is already in development by Remedy Entertainment and Microsoft Game Studios, based on some whispers contained in the ‘insider’ section of the latest edition of the Xbox World magazine.

The article contains the following infomation about the game: “We hear a number of Microsoft-friendly developers are hard at work on prepping next gen games as we speak. Could this be the reason why Remedy are so quiet about Alan Wake 2?”

The second game may not be as popular, but definitely has its own fan base: we’re talking about Saints Row 4. Saints Row: The Third is due for an imminent release next month, but information again obtained from Xbox World via CVG states that THQ and Volition are already in the ‘planning stages’ for a fourth game, and that it will most likely be an title for Microsoft’s next gen Xbox.

If these rumors are true and both games are already in development, then we should be correct to assume that they could well be launch titles for the Xbox 720 too. If we had to pick between the two, we would be most excited about Alan Wake 2 since the first game was so good, but depending on how good Saints Row: The Third is, this may also be a game to look out for on Microsoft’s Xbox 720 launch list.

What are your thoughts on this – are you a fan of both games or not? Alternatively, give us your list of games that you would like to see as launch titles for the Xbox 720.
