X-Men: Will a ‘First Class’ game follow movie in 2011?

We have some great news for X-Men fans now, as 20th Century Fox has officially announced X-Men: First Class, as the next movie in the long running superhero franchise.

It will be the next movie since X-Men Origins: Wolverine and is scheduled to be released on June 3rd, 2011. You’ll be interested to know that Vince Vaughn will be handed duties as director, the same guy who recently directed the excellent ‘Kick-Ass’ movie.

The movie will follow the events of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr before they came to be Professor X and Magneto. While I’m the sure the movie will be a fantastic addition to the lineup of superhero movies due next year, I am equally interested to see what the likes of Activision or anyone else come up with, in the game stakes.

The last game, X-Men Origins: Wolverine received mixed reviews, although it wasnt anything you can call ‘amazing’. On the other hand, Batman: Arkham Asylum was a game you could associate such a tag with, so I am waiting for the day when the Xbox 360 and PS3 are finally blessed with an X-Men game they could be proud of owning.

What are your thoughts on the movie? Do you have any game ideas which would tie-in events from the Professor X and Magneto storyline?

Fingers crossed on this one I think.
