WWE 2K14 Ultimate Warrior, a hint of Hall of Fame 2014?

We could have some very good news for old school fans of wrestling now, as it looks like there is going to be a big surprise in store for those that plan to pre-order WWE 2K14. Publishers 2K hasn’t announced anything yet, but a leaked image appears to confirm none other than the legendary Ultimate Warrior, available as a playable wrestler when you pre-order the game.

If you have been following wrestling for years during its transition, you’ll know that it would be a very big deal indeed if the Ultimate Warrior is actually involved in an official capacity with anything WWE related. Like we have seen with Bret Hart though who had his own personal issues with the company, it looks like time is a major healer.

The image you can see here courtesy of the Smackdown Hotel, shows Warrior striking an iconic pose and complete with his trademark hair and likeness from the golden days of WWF – when it was worth watching. We’re guessing all of his moves will be available such as his gorilla press finisher, as well as the running splash from the ropes.

It will be interesting to see just how much Warrior, real name Jim Hellwig has participated in the game, ie whether he will also be involved with voice work during the game’s story mode. Regardless of this though, it looks like 2K and Yukes are placing a heavy emphasis on old school WWE legends in the game and it’s great to see – Macho Man Randy Savage has already been confirmed don’t forget.

Could this partnership with WWE 2K14 be the start of something more evident in terms of WWE programming? Fans have been calling out for years for Ultimate Warrior to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame – perhaps he will make the class of 2014, who knows. Let us know what you make of Ultimate Warrior seemingly appearing in 2K14.

Do you think he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, despite criticisms of him in the media? Make it happen we say.
