WWE 2K14 gameplay trailer confirms Macho Man

WWE has officially unveiled The Rock as the cover star of upcoming video game WWE 2K14. We already knew that the ‘People’s Champ’ would be the cover star of this year’s game, but WWE made a special event of it during tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw. As a result, new publishers 2K has also released the very first trailer for the game, giving a glimpse of some gameplay footage.

2K are now taking over from THQ on publishing duties of course, with Yukes remaining as the developer for the game as they have done for so many wrestling games down the years. WWE 2K14 is obviously going to feature a large number of current generation superstars, but thanks to the debut trailer we now know that there will be a certain number of legends included as well.

A few of these will include Stone Cold Steve Austin, HBK and the Macho Man himself, Randy Savage complete with his trademark flying elbow drop off the top rope. It means that you’ll be able to have some cross generation match-ups and it should make for some great entertainment when playing with your friends.

The official release date for WWE 2K14 has already been confirmed for October 29 on Xbox 360 and PS3. 2K hasn’t confirmed yet, but we’re guessing next-gen versions of the game will also be available at some point next year. As confirmed on Raw just hours ago, The Rock is the primary cover star for the game.

However, you will also have the opportunity to create a second piece of custom art for WWE 2K14, which will be fitted inside the box when you open it up. 2K are running the content right now, you can head to their website here if you’re interested in taking part.

We like the cover art chosen for The Rock, but do you agree with it? Some of you may have liked to see Brock Lesnar as the main cover art, especially since The Rock isn’t even wrestling at the moment with all of his movie commitments.
