WWE 12: Does Brock Lesnar qualify as a ‘Legend’?

We have some exciting news for WWE fans now, as there are strong rumors swirling around at the moment that ex-WWE superstar and current UFC heavyweight Brock Lesnar is preparing to bring the pain as a playable character in WWE 12.

However, the rumors also suggest that Lesnar won’t be coming as a standard member of the RAW or Smackdown roster, instead he will be featured as a ‘legend’ in the game, and it is this criteria which is apparently the only reason in which THQ can allow him in the game since he currently isn’t a part of WWE at the moment and still signed to UFC.

UFC execs have apparently given the green light for Lesnar to appear in the game, according to PWInsider, but we have a feeling that it is more to do with sponsorship and other financial matters since, THQ are publishers for the UFC Undisputed 3 video game, as well as WWE 12 which is now available to buy.

Interestingly, Paul Heyman – a close associate of Brock and the main man behind WWE’s ECW brand during the ‘Invasion’ era, was said to be a key player behind the deal to have Lesnar feature in WWE 12. There are no official statements regarding the rumors though, but an announcement could be planned by THQ as early as Tuesday.

Back to the talking point we wanted to discuss though – How happy are you that Brock may be coming to game after such a lengthy period away? His last appearance was in Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain back in 2003, so the big man is definitely due a visit back to the company which made him famous. But does Brock qualify as a legend? If you count all of his accolades in WWE and also his status with the WWE fans, then maybe so, but usually you would associate a WWE legend as a person who came from the old WWF generation and dominated the game, such as a Bret Hart, or the Undertaker for example.

However, if having Brock appear as a legend in WWE 12 is the only way to get him in the game, then most fans will take this any day. There’s probably a ton of WWE/ MMA politics that need to be ironed out to secure his appearance, but we really hope this turns out to be true. Simply put – Brock Lesnar is a beast.

Would you want Brock Lesnar in the game, more importantly – is he a WWE legend in your eyes?
