The events leading up to World of Warcraft Cataclysm have caused panic in Orgrimmar, Stormwind, Thunder Bluff and Ironforge which has now ensued in to an Elemental Invasion that threatens to take over the cities. Oh yea, and did I mention that patch 4.0.3 was dropping too?
Patch 4.0.3 – Although it was pure speculation at first, this has now been confirmed by Blizzard who have put up their weekly maintenance message that states: –
Weekly Maintenance, 17/11
This Wednesday there will be an maintenance to apply patch 4.0.3. All European realms will be offline from 03:00 until 11:00, Paris time.
Now, before you get your knickers in a twist, this is NOT the patch that will be changing the old world in to the new cataclysmic one. This is barely a foundation for when Cataclysm hits. Just FYI, the patch that will be changing the old to the new will be patch 4.0.3a. The patch notes can be read in full via MMO Champion.
The Elemental Invasion (Part 4) – As you may know, there you was standing in your home city when all of a sudden Trade chat goes mental, and before you know it you are in a raid group against a bunch-load of elementals that have descended on the city. You’ve put up barricades, you helped the citizen’s and after a gruelling 20mins, your city is safe for now. If you do not have the [Tripping the Rifts] achievement, you can get it by taking part in these invasions.
Once you have made it through the invasion that happens at random (some say it happens every two hours or so), you will notice that a few portals appear around the city. These portals will take you to 4 “vanilla” bosses that have been ramped up to 81 elites. You may remember them from the good old levelling days. I wont ruin it for you, but I’m sure you can find out who they are somewhere else. The Twilight Bosses also drop 251 epic loot.
