WoW Cataclysm: Alpha Begins; Beta Release Date Hinted

Zarhym has taken to the official WoW forums to confirm the start of the ‘Family and Friends’ alpha testing phase for the highly anticipated World of Warcraft expansion — Cataclysm.

Still no word on the closed beta, but Blizzard have also been dropping subtle hints to suggest its not that far away. What we have found out is that Cataclysm based art, particularly box art, has appeared on and that the Cataclysm character copy page is an available link, for those who have keys.

As always, remain vigilant and know that no official invites for the beta testing have been sent out yet, so be very wary of scams and double check the messages in your inbox before you think you are a ‘lucky’ player.

We would also like to point out that the ‘Friends and Family’ alpha test is under a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), so any information regarding the game is very unlikely to be released until the beta.
