World Cup Edition – Premierscores: BlackBerry App Hands-on Review

If you are looking for a World Cup application for your BlackBerry smartphone you are probably wondering what app to choose, well over the last few days I have been using Accumulate UK Ltd’s World Cup Edition – Premierscores.

This application is currently available at BlackBerry App World for £2 per month or £10 for 12 months, you can also buy a World Cup ticket for £3, however if you would like to try out the app first there is a one week free trial.

The application has a mediocre 3-star rating on App World, but don’t let this fool you, when you run the app for the first team you will be asked to select your team, once you have done this you can start enjoying all of the app’s offerings.

Once you have chosen your team your homescreen will show you your team’s last match and next match, both of which you can click on to find out more details such as the line-up for an upcoming match (once it is released) and kick off time etc.

If a match is on-going or finished you can see full text commentary, match statistics, shots on goal and line-up. My favorite of these features is the shots on goal fixture, this shows a map of all of the shots on goal during the match.

The application also allows you to view all of the upcoming fixtures, tables and all of your team’s latest news along with the latest World Cup news.

For such a low cost I think World Cup Edition – Premierscores offers a great way of keeping up-to-date with all of the latest World Cup action, when I have used the application I have been very impressed with how quick the commentary comes in (pretty much instantaneous) and it’s overall functionality.

If you would like to find out more about the app check out the Premierscores homepage, to purchase the app head over to BlackBerry App World, alternatively search for “World Cup” in BlackBerry App World.
