Today is a big day for Microsoft, as they are to hold their Windows Phone 7 launch event in just a few moments. So we know that Steve Ballmer and his team will be showing us in detail the new mobile OS that is set to take the fight to Android, iOS, RIM and Symbian.
Sorry for those webOS fans out there, I have left them out due to the fact that they have not been a big player this year — although this could change in the early part on 2011, which is when HP is rumored to launch a new version of the OS along with new handsets as well.
So back to today, we already know that five devices are said to be unveiled today, such as the HTC Mozart, HD7, LG Optimus 7 and the Samsung Omnia 7. These are just a few of a whole range of handsets that are set to adopt Windows Phone 7, with AT&T being the premium partner.
For those of you who would like to watch the event via a live blog, then we have all the details here, as well as start times for different countries. We just wonder if this event will be enough for Microsoft to get its mobile OS market back on track?
