Windows 9 release date rumors, features after ‘failure’ tag

Are you already looking ahead to the glorious Windows 9 release date? Windows 8 may still be a new operating system in many consumer’s eyes, but those who have used Microsoft’s new software since launch are now getting excited about what new Windows 9 features are on the horizon.

While we continue to hear frequent Windows 9 rumors, it’s probably good to mention first that there’s also a high chance that Microsoft will decide to release Windows 8.2 first, before moving on to Windows 9.

Presuming that Microsoft are preparing Windows 9 for a 2014 release though, consumers are very eager to find out what improvements are going to be made from Windows 8.1.

We see that there is a lot of criticism floating around from consumers who still are not impressed with the UI. We love the bold changes that Microsoft has made though and we hope that they go bold again with Windows 9 features, whilst obviously retaining that option for consumers to switch back to classic Windows 9 desktop mode.

Although we have seen Microsoft switch to annual releases of Windows, we still do not have any concrete evidence to suggest that the Windows 9 release date will be in 2014. One big rumor which we spoke about previously, was in relation to Windows 9 actually being slated for an April 2015 release, but obviously we need more details on this before we assume it is legitimate.

What we do know though is that Windows 9 is rumored to be called ‘Threshold’ internally at Microsoft. When the software finally does arrive, consumers will hope that their patience threshold on giving Windows 9 a chance will be a lot more pleasurable than what others have called a ‘painful’ experience on Windows 8.

We’ve seen Windows 8.1 labelled as a ‘failure’, but do you think this is being overly harsh on Microsoft? We can’t wait to see what improvements are on the way with Windows 9, but it is going to be a long journey to repair some of the trust that consumers seem to have lost with the current software.

How would you describe your current experience with Windows 8 at the moment and what Windows 9 features would you need to see to even consider a purchase?
