It’s a week tomorrow when Microsoft will take to the stage for its Windows 9 event, and for those of you who were hoping to see the Preview release on the same day, you might go away feeling a little deflated.
This is because there is now a report that suggests the Windows 9 Preview could see a delay until sometime in October, and if this is the case would push it closer to the release of Yosemite. Apple’s next version of its Mac OS X is expected to be released during the iPad event, which we suspect will be October 21st, 2014.
It will be exciting to see the Windows 9 Technical preview, just to see if the leaked videos really did show off the new features. The article believes that the upcoming event is solely for Enterprise users, and so consumers will have to wait, although it is not know when that next event will take place.
Windows 9 Preview release date narrowed down — Windows 7 was first released on October 22nd, 2009, with Windows 8 coming two years later on October 26th. This means that Microsoft could release the Preview of its next version of the desktop operating system between the 22nd and 26th of next month, which puts it after Yosemite.
However, the full public release is not expected until 2015, with April being a high possibility.
