Windows 8: Build 7850 Leaked – Download at your own risk

We have some very surprising news to bring you now, as it has been confirmed that a leaked build of Windows 8 has found it’s way on to the internet, and it’s available to download now from certain locations, much to Microsoft’s horror.

Obviously we’re not going to post the download links here, as that would be silly, but we can at least point you in the direction of some leaked screenshots of the new build, which have been uploaded over on BetaArchive.

Interestingly, there doesn’t appear to be any major interface changes from Windows 7, which you’ll probably find disappointing. However, since this is the first build of Microsoft’s latest software, it could still be at a very early stage.

If you take a look at this specific image of Windows 8 here, you see what we mean when we say it looks exactly like Windows 7 but with the very slightest of changes. Notice in the corner too where it says ‘this is not a genuine copy of Windows’, along with Microsoft’s warning to employees not to leak the build to the internet – well that didn’t work.

What are your thoughts on the initial appearance of Windows 8 – are you disappointed it looks so similar to Windows 7?
