Windows 10 release date for PC, tablets pinpointed

Microsoft has finally unveiled a solid date for the highly anticipated Windows 10 release date for PC and tablets this Summer.

For those that can’t wait to get their hands on the free upgrade, you won’t have to wait long as Windows 10 will officially arrive on July 29, 2015.

The news was confirmed early on June 1 by Microsoft’s operating system chief Terry Myerson. The July 29 date will apply to PC owners and tablet owners, with the free upgrade being available for one year starting from July 29 to anyone with a copy of Windows 7 or Windows 8.1.

That means for the time being, Microsoft won’t be sharing the Windows 10 Mobile release date just yet. What you can see however is a great preview of what Windows 10 will offer in the meantime – including a look at Cortana, Microsoft’s personal assistant built into Windows 10.

We’ve added the new Windows 10 feature preview video below, which just went live along with the release date announcement.

Are you looking forward to your free upgrade? At long last we now all have a date to look forward to so give us your expectations below.
