Earlier, we mentioned the Microsoft Windows 10 preview update 10042 should see a release date very soon. The next download is said to focus on revealing more features than just bug fixes, but each build will of course improve overall system performance as well after feedback about current issues.
Following our article explaining how to enable Jump Lists in the Windows 10 Start Menu, we wanted to talk about some of the known problems at this time and those that could do with a fix in Windows 10 10042.
Known issues with the current Windows 10 technical preview – while the fixes in build 10041 are welcomed, there is other problems still remaining and this is obvious considering it’s in technical preview still with a release date window of “summer” 2015. Some of the current issues will be more important to fix above others, although the priority will be different from user-to-user.
Some notable issues right now include certain apps not updating or installing due to a Store Beta licensing issue, also the password and username boxes should be appearing at login and this is an issue for some. Some Product Reviews readers using the current preview also complain about broken apps, most evident for some are the People, Calendar, and Mail apps.
We should note that testers using the Fast ring should expect and have to handle these issues, or they have an option to change to the more stable builds seen in the Slow ring. Either way, fixes need to come and we would love to hear what our readers think should be fixed first above all else.
What Windows 10 fixes would you like to see in preview build 10042? Also, have you considered switching to the Slow ring that can be done by clicking PC Settings from the Start Menu, then head to the Update/Recovery option and choose a preview build that includes more stable options. When the next build releases, we will update our readers with the full changelog and again would love reader feedback.
