Wii U games list for Q1 2013 lacks strength

If you have picked up a Nintendo Wii U at launch and are wondering what games are due out over the next couple of months, you’ll be pleased to hear that Nintendo has released an official list letting you see what is exactly on the way. Unfortunately though, the list is looking a little bleak and we can only see a handful of titles that perhaps deserve attention, with the rest maybe in danger of being overlooked by fans.

The good news is that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is finally on the horizon. After months of screenshot and trailer teasing, the game is now on schedule to be released in March so that’s something for Wii U owners to look forward to as they wait for a possible Monster Hunter 4 Wii U announcement to be made later on in the year.

Another big game that should be a hit on the Wii U is Rayman Legends, which is due out February 28th and has so far attracted a lot of positive feedback. The same unfortunately can’t be said for Marvel Avengers: Battle for Middle Earth due out at the end of this month, as the game has received a considerable amount of criticism on the Xbox 360 version which currently has a Metacritic user rating of 6.6.

Elsewhere, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge is due out today, while Pikmin 3 has been given an updated release schedule of Q2 this year. It’s fair to say that in January, there isn’t really a lot to look forward to for Wii U owners, with Rayman Legends the pick of the bunch next month.

If you’re a Wii U owner reading this, let us know what games you would like to see throughout the year and if you agree that the list is looking a little weak at the moment.

Nintendo’s upcoming list from press release:

* Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge (Nintendo) — January 11th
* Sing Party (Nintendo) — January 18th
* Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth (Ubisoft) — January 24th
* Scribblenauts Unlimited (Nintendo) — February 8th
* NBA 2K13 (2K Games) — February 11th
* Rayman Legends (Ubisoft) — February 28th
* F1 Star Stars (Codemasters) — March 1st
* Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Capcon) — March
* The Croods: Prehistoric Party (Namco Bandai) — March
* Aliens: Colonial Marines (Sega) — Q1 2013
* Need for Speed: Most Wanted (EA) — Q1 2013
* LEGO City Undercover (Nintendo) — Early 2013
* Pikmin 3 (Nintendo) — Q2 2013

I will be getting 4;
Scribblenauts Unlimited
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Pikmin 3

Seeing as I have already bought 4 full games and 2 Wii U ware and love them all, I dont see what the problem is. It’s not like I could afford any more or have the time to play any more than that through to completion.

5 of those games I’ll be getting. Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, Pikmin 3, Lego City, Monster Hunter and Rayman Legends.
