Wii U 2014 joy with Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze reviews

The reviews for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze are in and have been widely positive which will bring joy to Wii U players and even more so, Nintendo. The Wii U has struggled with sales and has been criticized for offering too many cartoon games and not enough serious content, but lets face it Donkey Kong was always going to be a winner.

We have a selected roundup of various reviews from across the web, out of these sites only 2 gave the lowest rating of 6/10 (Gamespot and Shacknews). A score of 7/10 was given by 5 different critics, namely Metro, Eurogamer, GamesTM, NowGamer and Edge. CVG, Gamereactor and God is a Geek each gave the same review rating of 8/10.

Moving into the even higher echelons of critical acclaim with an impressive score of 9/10 we have reviews from IGN, USGamer, Nintendo Life, TheSixthAxis, Nintendo Insider and Gaming Boulevard, only Destructoid were bold enough to rate the game with a perfect score of 10/10. We have included 2 contrasting review videos for you below, one from Gamespot who gave one of the more average reviews, and one from GamesRadar who gave a more positive 4/5. This should lend a little more insight as to what gamers can expect from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze when it launches in the US and Europe on February 21st.

In the past few weeks all we have heard from the Wii U and Nintendo is negative news, but this one game could seriously turn their fortunes around. It looks like Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is going to be a system seller and don’t forget that we have the likes of Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 and Wii U Zelda all on the way.
