Earlier today we revealed how blood pressure medications could perhaps be link to cancer, we are now hearing that white rice could be linked with diabetes.

According to Boston-based researchers it seems as if there is a direct link between people who eat white rice and people that develop type 2 diabetes, therefore these researchers are suggesting that people eat brown rice instead.

These researches claim that studies across 197,000 U.S. adults over 22 years have shown a direct link between the two, which is concerning given that U.S. rice consumption has trebled since the 1930s.

Most of this rice consumed in the U.S. is processed, which means fiber, vitamins and minerals are removed from the grain, this processed rice is apparently linked to a rise in your body’s blood sugar level.

The researches have also said that their evidence proves that if you eat five servings of white rice a week you are 17 percent more likely to develop diabetes than people who ate less than one serving per month. If this is accurate it cannot be ignored.

If you would like to reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes these Boston-based researches claim that you should eat two or more servings of brown rice a week, this should significantly reduce your risk.
