Watch Dogs release date setback to 2014

We was really looking forward to spending a lot of hours playing Watch Dogs this year, but sadly that won’t happen now the release date has been pushed back to 2014. This news was broke by Ubisoft today along with a delay to The Crew as well.

You can now expect the Watch Dogs release date to land in spring next year, and this delay includes the PS3, PS4, PC, Wii U, Xbox One and 360. We managed to get hands-on at a recent gaming event in London, and while we love GTA V it is true that Watch Dogs also has a place in our gaming library, especially on next-gen.

Ubisoft explained that the reason for a delay is due to their own expectations for next-generation gaming, and the game in its current form needs more time to reach that potential. “We will not compromise on quality”, Ubisoft said in a statement today.

Are you disappointed by the half a year delay for Watch Dogs? It is a shame considering the game was originally expected to launch next month, and now has been setback by many months.

You can count on the Watch Dogs being even better now, although will you still be interested in picking the game up and will it be for a next-gen system? It is worth noting that Ubisoft will be changing their expected fiscal year 2014 earnings after this news.
