Watch Dogs Collector’s Edition only on PS3 in India

With Watch Dogs expecting to release worldwide next month on a number of platforms we are excited about its imminent arrival on the PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U, while we are also intrigued how this will be perceived on the next-gen PS4 and Xbox One.

The upcoming action-adventure stealth game will have an open world environment, and revolves around the player’s ability to hack into various electronic systems, whether it is to extract and control information, or destroy those devices at certain times. With that in mind, some gamers will be looking at specific collectors editions of the game, but apparently this will be exclusive to PS3 in India.

In an article on Gaming Bolt they discuss how the DeadSec and Vigilante Editions will be available in India for INR7999 and INR9999 respectively, which amounts to around $130 and $165. In connection to this we recently spoke about the cost of Watch Dogs Limited Edition for fanatics and discussed how this game looks like a competitor to the hugely popular GTA V, as both look set to be contenders for game of the year.

We mentioned how the $130 edition will contain a neat steel book, an official Watch Dogs soundtrack and an 80 page art book, along with Aiden Pearce’s vigilante mask and a 9-inch figurine of him. We questioned whether these so-called desirable additions to the game are worthy of the $130 price tag, or whether you feel this is an extortionate price for what’s contained?

In other related news we mentioned how Watch Dogs won’t get choppers, and even though this has been a prominent part of GTA V, Ubisoft’s upcoming open world game will not be following this route. Accounting for the success of GTA V we are aware how many fans will want some similar features in Watch Dogs, in fact we understand there has even been a petition for helicopters within the game.

It is worth informing gamers that Ubisoft has no intention of entertaining this demand regardless of whether GTA V has them, and the powers that be conceive how well this is appreciated in GTA V, but have no intention to copy other games.

We are not saying this may not eventually become available through mods on the PC version, and those who love this aspect in GTA V would be better off playing that if it is just choppers you are after. Returning to the original source, what are your thoughts on the Watch Dogs Collector’s Edition being available exclusively on the PS3 in India?
