An article posted earlier today touched on rumors suggesting that Apple would soon be discontinuing the iPhone 3G and cutting the price of the iPhone 3GS, this is due to a seemingly immanent release of the iPhone 4G, we are now hearing of a WalMart iPhone 3GS price cut on 16GB models.
Previously the 16GB iPhone 3GS would set you back $197 as part of a two-year deal with AT&T, however this price has been slashed by $100 by WalMart, this makes the handset just $97, which is apparently the lowest U.S. price for the handset.
Other versions of the handset such as the 32GB model are still the same usual price, however some experts believe that other iPhone 3GS models will soon be slashed, at $297 the price seems very steep, lets face it who is going to pay an extra $200 for an extra 16GB? I wouldn’t.
