Vudu Video Streaming Service to Offer 3D Movies

If you own a 3D compatible device that supports the Vudu video streaming service, then we may just have some exciting news for you. It appears that Vudu has just made an announcement at the CES 2011 event, that it is planning on offering 3D movie streaming as of next week.

You don’t have to worry too much if you haven’t yet got a device that supports 3D content from Vudu either, as it appears that manufacturers are working on rolling out more compatible devices throughout the year. This will of course include 3D HDTVs and Blu-ray players, Geoff Duncan at reports.

Vudu’s upcoming 3D content will be available in 480p, 720p and 1080p resolutions, and the company says that the 3D streaming content has exactly the same bandwidth requirements as the 2D content. Manufacturers who already support Vudu 3D content include Philips and Vizio.

The company hasn’t actually said how much content will be available when it launches the 3D movie streaming service, but it did state that it will be expanding its library over the course of this year. If you don’t know much about Vudu, you can learn more via the website.
