Vodafone Italia gets first dibs on HTC Titan, Explorer

With the amount of smartphones available on the market today it is often a hard choice to decide which is best for you. The high-end devices are often very pricey but will offer the latest as far as specs are concerned. If neither price nor technology is your priority then maybe exclusivity is what you are after. If that’s the case then Vodafone Italia might just have what you need.

According to Telecom Paper HTC has just announced that the Italian carrier will get first dibs on the HTC Titan and the HTC Explorer, distributing them exclusively. These two models differ in where they rank in the market specs-wise with the HTC Titan being a fairly high-end smartphone running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango and the HTC Explorer being a mid to low-end Android smartphone.

The Windows Phone OS is fairly new to the market and is yet to establish itself as a dominant choice of operating system for smartphone, although reviews so far have had nothing but good things to say. The HTC Titan packs a massive 4.7” touchscreen display with a 480 x 800 resolution, a 1600mAh battery, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 16GB storage, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera plus an 8 megapixel camera on the rear, 512MB RAM and a 1.5GHz single-core processor.

The HTC Explorer offers less in comparison to the Titan but is still an impressive Android device. It features a 600MHz processor, a 3.2” HVGA touchscreen display, a 3 megapixel camera on the rear, Bluetooth Wi-Fi, 512MB RAM, 483MB of storage with microSD expansion slot and runs Android 2.3.5. It also features the HTC’s Sense 3.5 UI, making it easy to use. What do you think of these two smartphones? Will you be getting either of them from Vodafone Italia?
