Virgin Mobile Releases New Music App for Android

We have some rather interesting news now for all you music fans out there that own an Android smartphone, as Virgin Mobile USA has just released a brand new music app onto the Android Market. The app — Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 — will provides users with free access to their music stream hosted by DJ Abbey Braden.

That’s not all either, as according to a report at, users will also gain access to check-in features at performances and events such as Lady Gaga concerts and past performance videos from Virgin Mobile FreeFest. Any status updates that are made using the application will be synced with Facebook and Twitter.

The app enables all Android users — both Virgin Mobile and non-Virgin Mobile customers — to stream content from the no-contract wireless carrier’s Virgin Mobile Live music and entertainment stream. The 24/7 stream features a wide range of music genres such as pop, indie, rock, hip-hop and dance remixes.

It also features exclusive artist interviews with host Abbey Braden, as well as up-to-the-minute blogging posts. The app will launch with select music and film content from Virgin Mobile sponsored events such as Virgin Mobile Presents The Monster Ball starring Lady Gaga, and Virgin Mobile FreeFest.
