Video highlights Galaxy Nexus UK release, teases US consumers

As US owners will be well aware, the Galaxy Nexus is still no closer to arriving on Verizon, but UK consumers and everyone else in Europe will be able to pick up their Galaxy Nexus later on today – November 17th. We have a video to show you now which rubs salt in the wound further.

Rather than the traditional unboxing videos that usually surface whenever a new smartphone is coming out, this video gives you the very first ‘unbagging’ of a Galaxy Nexus, as the user received his phone from Samsung early as he is part of the Samsung Mobiler program and intends to use it for review purposes.

With that said and done, you can watch the exciting video below. You can tell that the user, Andrew McSweeney couldn’t wait to rip the package open as it looks like he did so on the side of a road, straight outside of the post office. The video gives a brief, but general overview of the design aspects of the device, reminding viewers that the Galaxy Nexus doesn’t feature any physical hardware buttons, and feels similar in weight to the Galaxy S II.

Obviously for US consumers, this video serves as nothing much than a tease so we apologise in advance for that. However, it is still important to remind you guys that the phone is now available in the UK this week, with rumors continuing to suggest that the US version has been possibly delayed until sometime in December. Just yesterday though, we gave you the reassuring news that Google’s Matias Duarte spoke on TheVerge show stating that the G Nexus would be out sometime in November – so it is still very much up in the air at this point.

As a US consumer desperately waiting to get your hands on the Galaxy Nexus, how do you feel seeing the tables turned like this and the UK actually getting a flagship handset before the US market? Surprising stuff isnt it.
