It seems as if Verizon are not daunted by the upcoming release of the HTC EVO 4G phone on Sprint and in turn, the carrier’s release of the first U.S handset to be supported by 4G network speeds.
As reported from BGR, Verizon has released a new video in which they reveal that their very own network will be able to support 4G speeds of their own soon, with the rollout of their LTE connections.
The carrier tested their LTE network in a recent public showing in April over in Boston, MA. During the event, interested members of the public were able to test out the new 4G speeds from Verizon: capable of producing 8.5 Mbps download and 2.2 MBps upload speeds.
As you can see from the video, most of the general public were very impressed with the LTE network speeds, with downloads appearing almost instantly in some cases.
Is this a reminder to U.S consumers that there will soon be another choice for 4G network speeds? This is also another reminder that Verizon will fully be able to support an iPhone and 4G network speeds should it become available.
