Verizon Wireless ‘Super Switch’‎ can handle hurricanes

Verizon have recently announced that they have built a new switching office in south Florida, this switch will enable Verizon’s network to withstand a category 5 hurricane.

They are calling this a “”Super Switch”, this will help Miami and other close areas stay ‘live’ whilst mother nature runs its course.

Therefore even in extreme conditions you should be able to make voice calls, send texts/photos/videos and access the web, this switch cab apparently handle handle ‘tens of millions’ of wireless transmissions.

A quote from the Florida region president for Verizon Wireless released this statement “South Florida is one of the most dynamic and demanding markets in the nation, with millions of highly mobile tech-savvy customers squeezed along a coast”.
