Verizon Motorola Droid X2 Price is no Suprise

A few days ago we confirmed the date that the Motorola Droid X2 would be available in-store and online, now we have some other useful information for you, its price.

The Droid X2 will cost you $200 when you agree a two-year deal, this puts it on par with the 16GB iPhone 4 and Droid Incredible 2. As the Droid X2 does not feature 4G connectivity it is also cheaper than the HTC Thunderbolt and Droid Charge.

If you head over to Engadget you can see the full press release, this confirms that it ships with Android 2.2 FroYo but will get an update to Gingerbread in the future, it also says that it is enterprise-ready, so suits work and play needs.

As for monthly rates you will have to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan (starting at $39.99) and you will need a data package, you can get an unlimited data plan for an additional $29.99 per month.

The Droid X2 is a bit of a mixed package, the lack of 4G connectivity will put off a lot of people, however not everyone is worried about super-fast data access. On the otherhand the 1GHz dual-core processor is a first for Verizon and will allow some great multimedia capabilities and fast performance.

Does the lack of 4G connectivity put you off?
