Motorola’s product line-up is impressive by all accounts and now those waiting for the Motorola Droid 3 (aka DROID3) on Verizon Wireless will be glad to know that their wait will soon be over. Some exclusive details have found their way to Droid Life, which include an image (seen here) that details the most import features of the Motorola Droid 3 and the release date, said to be July 7 and July 14, 2011. The earlier date is for direct fill and the second for Verizon stores.
While the price for DROID 3 is still to be confirmed, rumors suggest a 2-year contract at $199 is a safe bet. The features and specs will include 5-row QWERTY keyboard that’s said to be more efficient thanks to improved tactile response. The Droid 2 Global was pretty impressive but when compared to the DROID 3 you will see 27% faster multitasking thanks to the dual-core processor, 30% faster graphics, and 26% more pixels on the 4-inch qHD display.
You’ll find a back facing camera and a front camera that’s perfect for video chat, a full calendar, corporate directory, nice email features, and Quickoffice integration. Other specs include 16GB internal storage, HDMI mirroring that’s a must for some users, and 1080p recording although there is no LTE / 4G. We expected a release to come in the next couple of months, but never this soon. Will you be buying the Droid 3 on Verizon?
Another phone that may take your fancy is the Droid Bionic that is also on Verizon Wireless, and following the rumor we reported yesterday that it’s release date could be much sooner than some people think, then you may want to wait a little longer. You can read about the FCC filing, which could be for the Droid Bionic here.
Last month we also looked at China getting their version of the Droid 3 before the United States, and concerns were voiced over a possible delay for the U.S. version. Let’s hope that this is not the case and the device is released in the next few days. Also last month we featured an article that took an extensive look at Motorola’s Droid 3, which pointed to low RAM affecting the benchmark results.
We’ll update you as we get more, and when there is official confirmation of Droid 3’s release. If all goes to plan, this should be only a matter of days.
