Verizon letting US customers get a taste of the Galaxy Nexus Friday?

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has been in the news a great deal since it was released a few weeks ago in the UK. The first smartphone to come running the Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system has suffered a couple of teething problems since then though. It was launched without any Flash support as well as having an annoying sound problem that has reportedly been fixed following a software update was rolled out. Now we have news that Verizon will finally be letting US customers get a taste of the Galaxy Nexus this coming Friday in the US.

There has been much speculation regarding when the release will happen on Verizon, but now after a reported leak Cnet are saying the device will be with us this week. It is being claimed that UPS will begin delivering the handset to Verizon stores today with an official launch taking place on Friday December 9th.

The leaked email warned staff not to “receive the product in via your scanner (this is a change in procedure)”, which could be down to the amount of sales plans have been leaked via screenshots of the carriers inventory systems.

Many consumers are looking forward to the handset as it will be the debut of the new Android OS in the US. So far the carrier has kept its plans for the release of the Galaxy Nexus close to its chest by only saying previously it would be coming by the end of the year.
