Verizon iPhone: Q1 Release Date hints from Motorola CEO

We have some interesting news to bring you now, as Motorola’s co-CEO Sanjay Jha has been speaking about his company’s future plans in relation to smartphones, tablets and 4G network speed.

However, during his keynote speech at the Credit Suisse 2010 Technology Conference, he revealed that a new ‘competitive threat’ is on the way to Verizon Wireless, the same carrier in which they have enjoyed notable success with their collection of Droid-based smartphones.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out that this competitive threat he was talking about is the not-so-secret Apple iPhone, which looks like it will be available on Verizon during the first part of 2011. Here is the teaser from Jha himself, as noted by BGR:

”There will potentially be a new “competitive dynamic” developing at Verizon Wireless – Motorola’s premier carrier partner in the U.S. – in the first quarter next year that could have a significant negative impact on Motorola’s first quarter.”

With that said, we just need Verizon and Apple to hurry up and announce the deal and put AT&T out of their misery. What are your thoughts on the comments from the co-CEO of Motorola?
