Verizon iPhone Features and Possible Problems

The question that we are now asking ourselves is not if a Verizon iPhone will be released, but when? There have been a number of sources that state that the CDMA version will be with us in January 2011, these include WSJ and Fortune. We expect two things from this release, different features than the current iPhone 4, and a number of problems with the network.

Matthew Shaer from CSmonitor explains that one issue is that the Verizon iPhone will not be able to work outside the U.S. — well the first model anyway. The reason for this is due to the fact that it might not come with the chip that makes the iPhone a world phone.

Another potential problem is how it will not be able to perform as well on its 3G network as the current AT&T version does. However, once the full 4G iPhone is ready, then we can truly see what the Apple smartphone is made of.

That’s enough of the negative, Shaer believes that there will be a number of added features to the Verizon version of the iPhone; such as TV for those who are currently signed up to their FiOS cable service. There was also a rumor that the Big Red iPhone would have an internal antenna, so could offer much better reception.

What ever way you look at it, Big Red users have been waiting over three years for this moment, are we finally going to get to see the Verizon iPhone?
