The idea of the Verizon iPhone is something that never seems to go away, and it seems that the CDMA version of the smartphone will be with us in 2011. However, there are two things we do not know, the release date and if it will be an iPhone 4 or 5? But one thing is certain; Verizon’s advertisement budget could take a huge slice of budget.
Big Red already runs campaigns for their in-house phones, but they know that none of these will have the impact that the iPhone will have. OK, so we know how popular Android has become, but Android is a collective, unlike the iPhone. An Article on Beatweak Magazine has said that Verizon now has the tough task of knowing just how much of their advertising budget to commit to Apple’s smartphone.
The article also picks up on an interesting point; rival AT&T has spent a small fortune on ad campaigns for each of its smartphones, but not for the iPhone. There could be a number of reasons for this, but why would AT&T want to spend money on commercials when Apple does it for them?
Some of you might think that we have heard it all before and that a Verizon iPhone will never get released, but you only need to take a look at the clues. Apple has allowed Big Red to start selling the iPad in their stores — surely there has to be a reason behind this.
The one thing that consumers have been getting confused about is an actual release date. We believe that a CDMA iPhone 4 will not be launched in January, as it would be madness to release this version of the handset when the iPhone 5 will be with us 5 months down the line.
