Earlier this month Verizon Wireless launched their 4G LTE network, at the moment the only devices which are 4G LTE compliant are USB modems, however it looks as if more devices will be revealed at the Consumer Electronics Show 2011.
This information was revealed on Twitter roughly an hour ago, we have embedded a screenshot of the official Verizon Wireless Tweet below, as you can see it seems as if a “slew of 4G LTE devices” will appear at the show, the usage of the word “devices” suggests that it won’t just be smartphones we will see, which could mean that we will see 4G LTE complaint tablets, netbooks and laptops as well.
The tweet also suggests that Verizon Wireless will have a webcast showing off these new devices, I doubt we will see a 4G LTE iPhone, however I’m sure that HTC and Motorola will have some Android devices to impress the world.
CES 2011 takes place in 20 days time and lasts for three days (from January 6th January 9th), it is regarded as one of, if not the world’s largest consumer technology tradeshow, therefore there will be a lot of new and amazing products at the show, I’m sure that 4G LTE devices will be particularly interesting for consumers this year.
What do you want to see at CES 2011?
