Verizon Galaxy S4 without home button branding joy

We have some further good news for those of you patiently waiting for Verizon to drop some official details on the elusive Samsung Galaxy S4. Earlier this week we told you how Verizon may be the last to the release party once again after T-Mobile and AT&T, but we again have fresh signs that Verizon won’t be making consumers wait much longer for an official reveal.

At the moment, Big Red seems very content with letting AT&T and T-Mobile take the spotlight for the time being, as both carriers have already announced pre-order and final shipping dates. Sprint has also been fairly quiet with regards to their Galaxy S4 release, but not as quiet as Verizon who are yet to give any official availability information whatsoever.

While we wait for a potential May 30 launch date to be announced, we can tell you that the Verizon Galaxy S4 product page is now live on Samsung’s website. You can proceed to check out the lovely device in either White Frost or Black Mist, but that isn’t the big talking point here.

That is reserved for the branding. If you zoom in on one of the images, you’ll see that there is no home button branding in sight, unlike the Verizon Galaxy Note 2, which came in for considerable heat from disgruntled fans. Verizon has obviously taken that on board and scrapped it for the Galaxy S4 release, leaving a sole 4G LTE and Verizon logo on the back casing as normal.

Thinking back to the Galaxy Note 2, that was surely one of the worst decisions made by Verizon – do you agree? Either way, it’s great to see that the Galaxy S4 won’t suffer from the same fate. All we need now is for Verizon to confirm a pre-order date, price and release date – we’re guessing pre-orders will begin towards the beginning of May if the device is really due on May 30.

A victory for the consumers? Let us know your thoughts on the Galaxy S4 on Verizon without the home button branding.
