A few weeks ago, we informed you about a notable and pleasing update for the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3, an update which brought notable new features to the device such as multi-window functionality. Now, we’re pleased to say that Verizon are now ready with their own multi-window update for the Galaxy S3, but with a vast list of other significant changes as well.
Everybody loves a substantial official software update, and it looks like Verizon Galaxy S3 users are definitely in for a treat. Big Red has sent out word on their support website, providing two PDF documents that will prepare users for the upcoming update, which could be rolling out at any minute.
Aside from the multi-window feature, users will also benefit from accessing their Wi-Fi connection easily on multiple devices when in Hotspot mode. Bluetooth headset users will also be able to access the home screen now without unlocking the device first, while Verizon has finally allowed users to send bills to their Verizon Wireless accounts when buying apps from the Google Play store.
That is only for starters, you can read the full list of changes that are coming over on Verizon’s support site here. The official install size will be just under 130MB and users should find themselves on version JZO54K.I535VRBMD3 once installation has been completed.
As far as we’re aware, the update should start to rollout before the end of the week and continue to reach users gradually over the weekend. Like other Verizon software updates, it may take some time before you see an official notification to update OTA, but you can always head into your device settings to attempt to push the update manually to save a bit of time.
The update should certainly keep Galaxy S3 users on Verizon busy for a long time and there’s no danger of Verizon not giving enough new features this time around. If you have a Galaxy S3 on Verizon, let us know if you have seen the notification to update in your area yet, to give other readers a heads-up on the update.
