Verizon 4G LTE: Pantech UML290 Modem – Set up on Mac Guide

Earlier this week we reported on the fact that the current Verizon 4G LTE modem ‘didn’t work‘ when using it with a Mac computer, but we’re now pleased to point you in the direction of a tutorial which provides a temporary solution for you.

As reported from Engadget, there are currently two modems available which have support for Verizon’s new LTE 4G modems. These are the LG VL600 which we told you about recently, and also the Pantech UML290 which we hope you are in possession of.

If you own the LG modem, we’re sad to say that this guide will not work for you, as a tutorial has only been made for the Pantech UML290 at the moment.

If you do own the Pantech, head over to HowardForums here for the full guide on how to get it working. We’ve taken a look at the feedback over at both Engadget and HowardForums and unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be any comments on if the process actually works or not.

With this in mind, you may want to hold off from attempting this, as don’t forget Verizon has already stated that Mac compatibility remains their next priority – you can read more information on this in our previous report here.

If you are a Mac user and have somehow managed to get your 4G LTE modem working with the service, get in touch with us.
