At the moment if you live in the U.S. and want a smartphone on a 4G network you have to go with Sprint, however other U.S. carriers are jumping on the bandwagon and revealing their 4G plans.

Verizon are no exception and are currently preparing their LTE network, a so-called reliable source recently revealed what he/she believes to be Verizon Wireless’ 4G roadmap, for this year through to 2013.

Lets start with 4G devices, apparently Verizon will release two 4G phones in January and 4G data cards in November this year.

Apparently in 2010 Verizon’s 4G LTE network will go live in areas such as Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth and Weatherford, TX. Apparently this will also result in a lot of east Massachusetts being covered.

2011 will apparently be the biggest year for the LTE network, apparently all universities and most colleges and cities in Louisiana will be covered. Also vast parts of Mississippi and Alabama will also have full 4G access.

In 2012 all cities, major highways and interstates will be covered, and in 2013 Verizon hope to have their complete 3G network covered by their new 4G or LTE network.
