Upcoming Crossovers and SUVs in India for 2014 – 2015

The Indian auto market has come a long way in the past five years or so, which has something to do with this being one of the largest developing markets, which has also had a positive effect on the smartphone industry as well. It is for this reason why we have taken an interest in the country, and so thought you may wish to take a look at some of the upcoming Crossovers and SUVs in India for 2014 and 2015.

Having already taken a look at several of the upcoming cars and bikes in India, it was an obvious choice to look into Crossovers and SUVs, as drivers in India have started to take an interest in these vehicle types.

There is a huge list of these vehicles ready to hit the Indian market, but Indian Autos Blog believes they have the best of the bunch, as they have narrowed them models down.

First up is the Fiat Avventura, which is a Crossover and is loosely based on the Punto Evo. This model is like most others in this category, and so raised up a little and with a plastic body kit added. There will be a choice of a three engines, two petrol and one diesel and will go on sale in either September or October.

The Porsche Macan is coming to India this month and will be aimed at those with a higher budget, although this is still the entry-level model for Porsche. There will be a choice of two engines, the 3.6-litre V6 petrol and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine.

Next up we have the Mahindra Scorpio facelift, although there is still a 6 to 8 month wait until this model hits the Indian market. This model will be getting a decent revamp to its exterior and interior, which is very much needed.

The Renault Duster is also getting a revamp, although this is not expected for another 10 months or so, although it could come much sooner. Other markets have already enjoyed the facelift, and so India is just waiting for theirs.

Finally, we have the Mahindra S101 mini SUV and will be brought to the market to take on the Ford EcoSport. Expected release date is in the early part of 2015 and will have a choice of diesel and petrol engines.

These are only a handful of Crossovers and SUVs coming to India over the next 12 months or so, but which model do you have your eye on?
