Uncharted 4 Vs The Last of Us success prediction

How excited are you about the upcoming Uncharted 4 release date? Naughty Dog is undoubtedly one of the most highly regarded developers in the industry at the moment and the slightest hint of Uncharted 4 news is enough to send fans into a frenzy.

Naughty Dog has been careful not to reveal when Uncharted 4 will be ready for release, as they know too well that giving an release timeframe can have dire consequences if they cannot meet it in the long run – look at the likes of Drive Club and Watch Dogs as prime examples.

Many people have started to wonder just what Uncharted 4 can go on to achieve and the kind of pressure that Naughty Dog must be feeling to deliver not only a game that meets their own expectations, but a game that can meet the expectations of millions of fans who have just finished the main campaign for the The Last of Us.

Even more so now when we tell you that Naughty Dog has just managed to scoop no fewer than 10 awards at the prestigious DICE 2014 awards recently. More importantly, Naughty Dog beat off competition from Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, Bioshock Infinite, GTA V and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds to win the best award of them all – Game of the Year.

When referencing the win, Creative Director & Writer for the Uncharted series Amy Hennig teased this about working even harder on Uncharted 4:

It goes without saying that Naughty Dog has a massive task on their hands if they can move straight from The Last of Us which has just won 10 awards, to Uncharted 4 and go on to break further records with that game.

Uncharted 3 is already considered a classic in the franchise, so let’s hope that the new game does not fail to disappoint. We all know the hype that GTA V received prior to build-up and although the story mode has gone on to meet expectations – the GTA V Online mode has disappointed many fans.

After seeing Naughty Dog almost clean sweep the entire DICE 2014 awards, are you a little worried that hype may threaten to go overboard with overwhelming expectations for Uncharted 4?

We still know very little about the game, including main protagonists, so let’s keep one foot on the floor shall we.

Give us your thoughts on the Uncharted 4 hype train so far.
